So sometime last year I bought a 3D printer from Monoprice. The specific model is the Maker Select v2. Anyways after a few months of having the printer the plastic stopped feeding in the extruder. So I finally got the motivation to do something today with it.
So apparently the plastic came out of the feeder and wrapped around the shaft behind the stepper motor gear. I first noticed the issue when the stepper motor was just clicking and not catching the filament.
The process for fixing this is pretty simple, just remove the two fan screws, take the fan and the heat sink off. Don’t loose the screws or spacers, then take the two screws for the feeder off, don’t loose the spring. Then it’s just a matter of pulling out the filament from behind the gear.
