While growing up, each of us had one thing or the other that we wanted to become in life.
But as we grow from one stage to the other, maturity and circumstances of life gradually turn things around.
Some actually ended up going for those dreams while others had to switch and dance according to the tunes that life presented to them.
I will be honest, most people are not doing the occupation they want. Situations compelled them to embrace what was before them in order to survive.
And no one will blame them because it is life, opportunities are scarce, and what you see before you is more important than what you hope to have.
I won't deny the fact that passion is supposed to be considered above making a living when it comes to what we do. The advantages are quite obvious.
The one who follows passion will always give out the best, excellence, resilience, patience, and consistency will reflect in his/her work.
From the way the person does the job one can tell that this person is not doing this just for the money, this is a part of him/her.
On the other hand, the one who is only there for the money won't give his/her best, even if they do, the difference will be clear, they are mostly the type that complain over every little thing and see it as being stressed and overworked.
Someone who is driven by passion even if he/she is not an expert in the field, give them a little time, that passion will transform them into a professional, they will do whatever they can just to see they measure up because it is what they want.
Doing something you are passionate about brings fulfillment and peace. Whether you are earning much or not, as far as it is what you love doing, somehow, you will be content with what it is fetching you, hoping that things will be better soon.
On the other hand, doing something just for what it gives you only has what you earn as an advantage. If you take the income out, no matter how prestigious the job is, it will be annoying to you.
But with the way the world is, if you ask me which is more important, passion or making a living? I will also ask you a question, “how much is involved?”
If what I'll earn from what I don't have passion for is more than what I'll earn from what I have passion for, I won't lie, I will go for just making a living.
Life is very expensive, to survive nowadays is money. Life doesn't always give us what we want. Sometimes even if the job is not what we want we just have to close our eyes and take it in order to survive.
I believe that if we are able to establish ourselves, eventually, we can come for what we have passion for.
I have seen many people say if it's not what I have passion for, I can't take a job and they end up losing opportunities that would have transformed their lives and they are regretting it today.
In my opinion, I think it's best you aim for the big fish first, when you have caught enough then you can fish for pleasure. By then you must have had enough to decide to do what makes you happy and still not be limited.
