May 30 Days Writing Challenge - Day Twenty Three
As the saying goes, "different strokes for different folks".
Some people choose to comment, so people don't. In fact, some Steemians are not social at all! I, for one, am more apt at commentating than producing contents on this platform. I have also mentioned in a previous post that I would rather be an engaged delegator.
Number of comments I had in the last seven days at time of writing:
<24 hours - 4
1 day - 9
2 days - 13
3 days - 20
4 days - 13
5 days - 14
6 days - 17
7 days - 15
This information was obtained from Steem World.
Edit: it is important to note that the stats here represent my comment activity during my 70-hour work week. I work 7 on 7 off, so I naturally have less time to spend on Steemit when I have to work.

Why comment?
The simple answer is that I am on a social platform. I'm here to make connections, regardless of the depth of the connections. To me, the monetary compensation is icing on the cake. It's what I like to do. It's who I am.
In the long term, I'm also striving to become engaged person that I had envisioned. I may not be rich like the whales on the platform, but I want a fulfilling experience that can be reflected in real life. Commenting is the gateway action into communities and friendships.
I want to be able to say that I learned some things about life with my time on Steemit. They can be stories about people. They can be projects deployed on the platform. Bottom line is, doing so would be difficult if I choose to not interact with the community.

Do you enjoy commenting? If so, how often? Let me know in the comments (ha) below!
