In Szigliget I stopped at the foot of the castle for a longer time, although it was no more than one hour and a half. There's a café with ice cream parlour there, the ice creams are handmade and very delicious. One serving was 550 HUF (about 1.20 USD) and that was enough for me. In the courtyard of the ice cream parlour there are huge lounge chairs to climb up and lie down in. This one should not be missed!
The whole scene has a vintage and Mediterranean flavour.
Don't go anywhere! You're in the right place!
There were so many tourists that getting up to the castle was hopeless. But I thought, I will return here! Maybe in winter, preferably in cold, snowy, sunny weather! But I admired the old gate, behind which is an open-air stage.
The ice cream shop actually has a cat. She was a bit shy, but showed herself for a photo.
Below the castle is a World War II military cemetery.
The old press houses have been very carefully and beautifully renovated. In the forefront of one of the houses, a small tiled plate has been added.
A wine cellar is advertised with an old grape press that was built in 1821.
The road is lined with special pine species.
Lush green pasture with Badacsony in the background.
In this area, it is common for homemade products and fruit to be displayed in front of the house and available for purchase. Mostly they just put out a box for you to put your money in. Here people trust strangers, who do not abuse that trust. There is a high level of public safety here, no one gets hurt and everyone is very helpful! Unfortunately, this is not the same in most parts of the country.
The distance to Badacsonytördemic was not far, but the road was asphalt all the way. This is good for cyclists, but not good for pedestrians. Towards the end I felt like my feet were on fire.
I finally arrived at the Szigliget-Badacsonytördemic railway station, where I stamped my booklet. That was the end of my 17 (including my wanderings about 20) km Blue Trail section.
Then I took off my boots with socks and walked barefoot on the pebbles. That was really good for me!
When my friends arrived by car, I had no intention of taking my boots back. They decided they wanted to have ice cream too, so together we went to Szigliget again.
