Why is PeakD the best platform to use when blogging in decentralized Social Media? Okay, I'm not here to praise PeakD because it doesn't curate LoL. This article is also not intended to criticize other platforms but rather to help them understand why PeakD is the best option for me.
By using PeakD's Platform, your blogging life will be much easire and enjoyable.
Of course, it doesn't mean that PeakD cannot improve further. This post only aims to highlight why PeakD is the best platform to use when blogging on the Hive Blockchain.
What are the factors that make PeakD the best among the rest?

Functions
There are many functions that only PeakD has. If I have missed some similar functions on other platforms, it might be because they are not placed in the settings.
What are some of these functions that I like?
Default Vote Weight for Posts: With PeakD, you can set the default value every time you vote. If you always want your vote to be at 50%, you can set it in the settings under the general tab.
Default Vote Weight for Comments: In case you want to reward users who comment on your post, you can also set the default value in the general settings.
Default Post Reward: There are various options in the rewards settings, such as 100% HP rewards, 50/50 HBD and HP, Burn, Decline, etc. If you don't want to convert HBD and prefer to use it for power-up, you can set your rewards to automatically be 100% HP, as I did. This way, all of my rewards will go to HP for power-up.
Select Default API Node: In this setting, you have the option to select the best API node in case the API node you're using is always generating error messages. Mine is set to hive-api.3speak.tv, which is owned by @threespeak.
Look and Feel Settings: Here you can setup how you want your PeakD to look, you can set it to light and dark view, gird settings, blog settings or list settings. You can also set the settings how you view sliders.
Content Settings: here you can set the settings of what you want to see like turning off NSFW of hide posts with specific tags.
These are just a few of the settings you can find under the settings tab. In my future posts, I will discuss and explain each setting and its benefits for you.
Organized
I find PeakD very organized. If you go to the dashboard, the settings for different features are grouped together.
If you go to the dashboard, you will know what I mean.
So what if it's organized? Well, having an organized front-end can help you accomplish tasks faster. What I like about PeakD is that it's not hard to find what you're looking for.
Want to see your stats? Go to the dashboard and analytics.
Want to see your referrals? Go to dashboard-referrals. There's no circling around or going back and forth.
Insights
PeakD provides insights into your account. You can see your most popular post, how many people have viewed it, and how long they have read it.
Why are insights important? Content creators like me value insights a lot. It helps me determine if people are genuinely engaging with my posts, especially on Hive where you can automate votes. This means that your vote is not necessarily equivalent to your views.
We can vote on posts on Hive without actually reading the post. It can be done through auto-voting using a fanbase or by following a trail. It can also be manually done on the news feed because there's a voting button on the post preview.
This means you can have hundreds of votes, but only a few people actually read your content. That is bad for content creators. It's like hitting the YouTube button without watching the video and then exiting. As content creators, we are not just here for the rewards; we are also here to share our knowledge. It's very disappointing for us to see that no one reads or views our content.
The Wallet
You will find PeakD's Wallet Tab very informative. It shows you a detailed breakdown of your delegations, where you can update them and change their settings.
It also shows you information about the HBD you converted and how many days are left before the conversion finishes.
It displays tokens inside your Hive Engine wallet, and you can send tokens from there.
It even shows information about all of your NFT games.
Ease of Use in Creating Posts
I always use PeakD because of how easily you can create a post in it. The toolbar is easy to understand, and the advanced settings are very user-friendly and detailed. You can schedule a post if you don't want to publish it yet.
You can set the featured image that you want to use,
and you can display a visual counter in case you're running a contest.
You can add specific posts to your portfolio or collection if you want to group your posts.
Curation and Engagement
I always try to support other users through upvoting and commenting. PeakD's menu is very helpful in finding topics I like, posts that might interest me, and communities that I enjoy by using their search bar.
If you have used other platforms before, you will notice that PeakD's search bar is different. It allows you to search for specific hashtags, posts using keywords, users, and communities. You can also set your PeakD to have a curation history where you can see all of the posts you have upvoted.
Chat Feature
Before this new messaging feature was integrated into PeakD, PeakD already had a messaging feature called Bee Chat.
I know other platforms also have messaging features, but PeakD's messaging feature is easy to find and loads quickly. You also don't need to sign in to a new page to access it.
Device-Friendly
There are some platforms out there that are not device-friendly. Do you know why you don't get upvotes? It's because the platform you are using does not show images on certain devices, and this could really affect your post.
Post Visibility
I have noticed that when I blogged into some other platforms, there are only specific topics posted there. I also noticed that if I post using other platforms, the visibility of my post is very limited. It seems to me that those platforms are restricting the impressions of my post across the whole Hive social network.
In case you are wondering why your posts seem like a ghost town even though you have followers, it may be because you are using a platform that limits your views to specific users that uses that platform. I have experimented with this and found out that people who added you to their fanbase will not auto-vote if you post on these platforms.
These are all the reasons why I consider PeakD as the best decentralized blogging platform running on the Hive Blockchainmaking
On my next topic, I will discuss how to use PeakD effectively.
In case you want to teach someone how to onboard the Hive Blockchain, feel free to use my YouTube video so that they can onboard easily.
