All my training as a Food Engineer left me with a lot of memories. Memories of all kinds: some a little ugly from when I suffered from studying so much 😂, but most beautiful for having met excellent people. I studied at the National University of Quilmes, but within our program of subjects we had the possibility of taking subjects within other Universities. One of those subjects that interested me from the first moment was this: Dairy Products Engineering ❤️.
Toda mi formación como Ingeniera en Alimentos dejó en mi un montón de recuerdos. Recuerdos de todo tipo: algunos un poco feos de cuando sufría por estudiar tanto, pero la mayoría lindos por haber conocido excelentes personas. Yo estudié en la Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, pero dentro de nuestro programa de materias teníamos la posibilidad de cursar materias dentro de otras Universidades. Una de esas materias que me interesó desde el primer momento fue esta: la de Ingeniería de productos lácteos ❤️.
This course was taught at the National University of Luján, about 60 miles from my house. It lasted a whole week, so my colleagues and I organized to go together by car and stay the night in a hostel in the area. One of the main icons of the city of Luján is the Basilica, where many believers from all over the country organize pilgrimages as a way of thanking the Virgin of Luján.
Este curso se dictaba en la Universidad Nacional de Luján, a unas 60 millas de mi casa. Duraba una semana completa, por lo que mis compañeros y yo organizamos para ir todos juntos en auto y quedarnos a dormir en un hostel de la zona. Uno de los íconos principales de la ciudad de Luján es la Basílica, donde muchos creyentes de todas partes del país organizan peregrinaciones como forma de agradecimiento hacia la virgen de Luján.
All this training consisted of 5 classes of 8 hours per day. It was a very intensive course where we learned in a general way all the aspects of the dairy industry: the production process of milk, cheeses, creams, ice creams and our famous dulce de leche ❤️.
Toda esta formación consistió en 5 clases de 8 horas por día. Era un curso muy intensivo en donde aprendimos de manera general todos los aspectos de la industria láctea: proceso productivo de leche, quesos, cremas, helados y nuestro famosisimo dulce de leche ❤️.
The Luján district and the entire area of the province of Buenos Aires is known as the Milk Basin. That is why this university specializes in this: they have their own dairy and a pilot dairy factory that we were able to visit during class hours. Soon I will share each process in detail ❤️.
El partido de Luján y toda esa zona de la provincia de Buenos Aires es conocida como la Cuenca Lechera. Es por eso que esta universidad está especializada en eso: cuentan con un tambo propio y una fábrica piloto de productos lácteos que pudimos visitar durante las horas de clases. In the field of the University we saw the little cows that breed there. This dairy farm supplies milk to the first brand of dairy products here in Argentina, called "La Serenísima".
En el campo de la Universidad vimos las pequeñas vacas que crían allí. Este tambo abastece de leche a la primera marca de productos lácteos aquí en Argentina, llamada "La Serenísima".

Inside the pilot plant we saw the machinery needed to make cheese, dulce de leche and ice cream. This was very enriching for me at the time because I had never seen this before, that day I was very excited about it ❤️.
Dentro de la planta piloto vimos la maquinaria necesaria para realizar quesos, dulce de leche y helados. Esto fue muy enriquecedor para mí en ese momento porque nunca antes había visto esto, ese día estaba muy emocionada por eso ❤️.

We also had the opportunity to go to a dairy factory called "Suipachense", where we saw almost the same machines as in the pilot plant but this time on a larger scale.
También tuvimos la oportunidad de ir a una fábrica láctea llamada "Suipachense", donde vimos casí las mismas máquinas que en la planta piloto pero esta vez a una escala mayor.
That day was the first time in my life that I saw a tube exchanger in real life. From that moment on, everything clicked on me because while doing math exercises I couldn't imagine how all this worked 😂. In all this equipment the heat treatment of the milk is carried out, called Pasteurization ❤️.
Ese día fue la primera vez en mi vida que vi un intercambiador de tubos en la vida real. A partir de ese momento todo me hizo click ya que mientras hacía ejercicios matemáticos no podía imaginarme como todo esto funcionaba 😂. En todo este equipo se realiza el tratamiento térmico de la leche, llamado Pasteurización ❤️.

This company also makes powdered milk, which is why we also saw spray dryers. I remember that the first practical work I did for my career was on these teams, so seeing them live and direct was very exciting for me 😍.
En esta empresa también se realiza leche en polvo, por lo que también vimos los secadores de spray. Recuerdo que el primer trabajo práctico que hice para mi carrera fue sobre estos equipos, por lo que verlos en vivo y en directo fue muy emocionante para mí 😍.

This whole course was really wonderful. I learned a lot about the dairy industry and it was worth the trip there. Also, it was the first time I saw so many machines in the industry so this experience has great sentimental value for me. I love all these things and reaffirm that I chose my career very well ❤️.
Todo este curso fue realmente maravilloso. Aprendí un montón de cosas de la industria láctea y valió la pena haber viajado hasta allí. Además, fue la primera vez que vi tantas máquinas de la industria por lo que esta experiencia tiene un gran valor sentimental para mí. Todas estas cosas me encantan y reafirman que elegí bien mi carrera ❤️.
