1)Some researchers from the University of California invent a water harvester which sucking water from air without any power other than sunlight. They designed a MOF called MOF-303 which produces 400 ml of water per day from one kg of MOF.

- Some researchers from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia developed a new type of solar power setup which uses waste heat from solar panels to distil and purify water. They developed a photovoltaics membrane distillation device which can produce clean water from seawater and at the same time solar panel produced electricity.
The system can produce fresh water at a very higher rate by constructing multi-stage membrane distillation (MSMD) device at the backside of the solar cell to recycle the latent heat of water vapour condensation in each distillation stage.
Main benefits of this technology are that we can use the same land and the same mounting system to generate electricity and freshwater production unit either from seawater desalination method or from any type of polluted water to freshwater.

- A UK based developer Peter Ma developed an AI-based cloud computing device which can test the purity of water by using UV ray without any chemical test in real-time. It can identify bacteria in water
- Another UK based company makes a bottle like water purifier NKD+ which have an inbuilt purifier system and can produce bacteria and heavy metal-free water by recycling any type of water.
The device also included a supercharger which can produce more antioxidants rich and more alkaline based water with 300 cycles refill filter.

Scientists are continuously trying to build low cost, a low energy water purifier for solving freshwater crisis worldwide and they solved the freshwater problem very soon.
