Pictured here is the new vanity. Some assembly required. This was achieved after rounding up a tradie (at last) and getting a deal and a quote. We get the stuff, the tradie installs it when they find some spare time in the schedule.
And we need it because the vanity went from this:
To this:
...with just one bump while Mayhem was using the facilities.
That's what water damaged MDF looks like when the people who make it can't be bothered using waterproofing when creating a surface. The whole thing just popped off over the weekend.
I've cleaned out everything in the way in preparation for the Big Fix. We know where the spare tiles are, and I have spare boxes ready for anything else that needs clearing out at the last instant. I'm certain I forgot something.
All this could have easily been a four-figure purchase [Beloved and I have expensive tastes] but we found ourselves a clearance bargain that cost us three figures all up. The heftier side of three figures, but it could have been way worse.
The ducks are lined up, now all we have to do is get them to march. That's double-figures per hour and a weight off my conscience to boot.
And for those of you wondering about the gap betwixt sink and wall:
It's pretty close to an inch. I fret every time one of the cats climbs up on it.
All of the replacings should be underway inside of a week. We hope. The tradie I have to do the thing has other jobs and what I affectionately call "the fuckup factor" in the way.
