FREEDOM

While in jail after his capture in 2013 stemming from Civil Freedom Plaza's civil disobedience, Kokesh began working on his book, FREEDOM! Originally published in 2014, FREEDOM! available online for free in PDF and audiobook formats.
Kokesh touches a wide range of topics, including patriotism, war, taxation, and how the ideas outlined can be implemented in the future.
On his website, he explains the philosophy behind the book:

You, as a free, beautiful, independent human being with an inalienable right, have yourself! You can do what you want with your own body and your work. All human interaction must be free from violence and coercion, and we are free to exercise our rights, limited only by respect for the rights of others. The government relies on strength, and power is a poor substitute for persuasion. When you learn "do not hit," "do not steal," and "do not kill," no, "unless you work for the government." The government scares us to think we need it, but we move past the static paradigm and make it obsolete.

Kokesh views the government as the biggest cause of violence in the world today and believes that government coercion is just as unwanted as the coercion of a citizen.
He believes that governments should be abolished to reduce violence and build community based on respect.
He has announced plans to run for President of the United States in 2020 on an orderly federal government dissolution platform.
In his book, FREEDOM !, he explains his position on government:

The government is essentially immoral because it is based on violations of individual rights.
As much as we have advanced, it is not because of the government but apart from them.
As free, beautiful, and independent human beings, we have ourselves and can not let anyone say otherwise to us.
We have the right to govern ourselves.
We have a right to take responsibility for our own lives.
No one has the right to control others by force, even if they claim to have a majority behind them.

Kokesh is an advocate for self-possession, the idea that everyone has himself.
He believes that any act of violence or the threat of violence between individuals is a violation of one's freedom.
