Most times as humans we tend to feel things are not going the way we want it to. We are impatient and want everything to happen for us at the speed of light. The fact that your classmate in high school is doing better currently doesn't make you a failure. We all run our races differently so be patient and wait for your time.
Always remember that despite the fact that New York City and Los Angeles are in the same country, they share different times. New York is 3 hours ahead of Los Angeles. That is how our lives work. The fact that you are the same age with someone doesn't automatically means you all would make it at the same time.
Also remember that Barrack Obama became the president of the United States at the age of 47 but that did not stop Donald Trump from achieving his own aspirations to succeed him at the age of 70, thus making him the oldest person to be elected as the president of the USA. Why did he not become the president of the USA at the age of 47 like Barrack Obama ? The answer is, they are both operating according to their time zones.
Be positive about yourself, run your race and don't get distracted by those you think are ahead of you. With time you will will get there. Use steemit as an example, you can't become a whale on your first day or in your first month, it takes time, hard work and also serious investment and commitment.
