I was born in a country wherein most of the people are engaged in agriculture and it's one of it's foundation in supplying the needed foods here. I will say this one and I want everyone of you to carve it in your minds. Without the people who's engaging in this one, the planet will not survive. So as a simple human just like you who's reading this one, can we pay them with high respect and appreciate every single of their sweat and blood poured into those foods and crops you're eating in your daily life.
I said that one because we can't deny the fact that some people look down into these individuals who's main job is farming. I can see it since I was young so I know the feelings of a farmer who's being looked down because we are a bloodline of farmers. That's just a simple request from your's truly who's a simple farmer.
With all the things I said above I want to share that our planting of rice has been successful and we just finished it today. Planting of rice is difficult, it takes a lot of process from preparing the rice seeds to growing them to transplanting them to the field. Also after transplanting them , taking care of it will need a hundred percent of surveillance because anytime a problem may occur cause by pest or insects and other factors.
You need to alot time, sacrifice your sweat and blood when planting rice and other product. Farming is fun and you can enjoy the process for sure.
I was busy the whole day and the other day attending my duty as a cultivator of the land. I woke up early around 4 am in order to prepare before going to the field.
Our first thing to do when planting rice here is to uproot those rice seedlings from the seed bed. Then we used the fine slice of bamboo to compile it. Then we transport it to their respective areas.
We carry it by hands as shown in the photo above or in sacks. It depends in your choice. We did it by hands to lessen the stress brought the seedlings especially their roots. It may take a while to transport those but doing this will bring you a 100 percent for your little ones to survive. Mind you, the roots are the most important part of a plant in order for it to grow well.
Then we will transport it using a kuliglig or the hand tractor with it's cart. The seedlings will be carefully arrange within the cart to avoid hurting the roots. After transporting it with this one, we will manually distribute each bundle across the rice field, equally divided. That's what we did today with my cousin.
Then the people who are task to plant them will carefully divide them into 4 to 6 pieces and plant it while maintaining the desired space between each spot. The final outcome would be like this. This is the rice field which we cultivate as caretaker.
Kids these days are too busy holding those gadgets and forget to go out. With my cousins this afternoon while we continued to carry those bundle of seedlings, I brought them with us to the field to educate them how it is done.
This will also teach them that farming is essential to our daily life. Not just with rice but with other products also. I hope that by doing this they will love farming too in the future.
That's how my day went this day and to be honest I'm very tired but that's life. We just have to be patient with all the things that happens around us.
Thank you for reading and have a good night and goodmorning the other side.
All photos are taken by me and my cousin.
