Coming along quickly now this one. Decals and weathering / some detailing to follow. Cracked out the Milliput late last evening, and got some decent results painting over it tonight.
This is a 'Vintage Classics' Airfix kit, from a recent range released using archive molds.
Perhaps it needs some shot down enemy planes to go as a diorama. Lilliput here we come!
:)

Milliput
You can see here I added some detail for the canvas top effect. Also closing up the gaps on the truck cab.

basic build is complete. Note the canvas detail on the roof :)

Side view with more detailing still to be done
One thing I have found, these military models are so much more forgiving to paint than larger 1:24 scale cars. The fact they are supposed to look rough and grime ridden is a big help. errors just look like dings and scrapes - and that is what we want!

Next will come dry-brushing, a technique to lightly drag paint over the raised surfaces to add detail. Then I have to practice some fake shadows and try to 'dirty it up' a bit. Some lady eye-shadow palettes in matte earthy tones are said to make cheap alternatives to expensive scale-model specific 'weathering'kits - which look like eye-shadow palettes!!
So, who'd ever thought that I am the kind of guy that would buy this….
