Do you already know what self-reflection is? Don't you? Then I'll tell you.
Self-reflection is: Serious thought about one's character and actions.
Have you ever sat down and asked yourself questions about your behavior and so forth? Or have you ever gone up to someone and asked the person specific questions about yourself and your behavior? All of that already indicates that you are consciously or unconsciously engaged in self-reflection. Self-reflection encourages a level of self-awareness. It enables you to identify areas for improvement and also areas where you are strong.
Self-reflection is important to know more about yourself. What do people generally think of you? Often you do not realize that you have, for example, an annoying behavior at certain times, and the best way to find out is when it is said to you.
Self-reflection makes you aware of many things, and thus you can make yourself better as a person. Self-reflection can be done at any time. There is no specific day or time, and it is completely free. Try to stand in front of the mirror and take a good look at yourself, and then think deeply about what your strengths and weaknesses are. How can I maintain or make stronger my strengths, and how can I address and improve my weaknesses?
Evaluating yourself never hurts. It makes you as a person more aware of who you are. Some self-reflection questions are:
- What makes you feel led on?
- What can make you angry?
- What makes you tense?
- What happened?
- What went well?
- What did you do?
- What characteristic in others upsets you?
- What affects you emotionally?
- How do you come across to others?
- Where did you find beauty and comfort today?
- What did you give up?
- What are you feeling right now?
- When are you being yourself?
- What values are important to you?
- What strength do you need?
- What motivates you?
Just sit on the couch or lie on the bed and think for a moment about nothing but yourself. Ask yourself questions and answer them.
Self-reflection has helped me a lot as a person with the obstacles I had in my path. Not only you, but the people around you benefit from it as well. To your friends from now on, you can also tell them to do self-reflection if they want to make themselves a better person. Supervision is not an act of enmity!
