White paper
The Cardano project does not have white paper. In 2015, the team agreed on basic principles and best practices in software development. Immediately afterwards, the research of about one thousand of the then crypto of projects and relevant literature began. This research has generated many documents that can be traced back to the project site. These documents are the basis for work on Cardano. The team has no tied hands with a white pope. On the contrary, you can explore many variants on the run and then choose the best ones. For example, the team advised the Dash currency to improve protocol consensus, and also received a request for assistance from the ZenCash project.

Team
Cardano is an international project behind three entities:
Cardano Foundation - a non-profit organization that is in charge of education, promotion of blockchain technology and the project itself. It addresses cooperation with governments and business around the world, and community care. It could be likened to the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA). Blockchain projects focus on decentralization (even for people-to-people roofing), but it is important for businesses and governments to have a contact point. Cardano has embarked on co-operation with current authorities, believing that they can better enforce their vision of the future.
Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK), a software company with a contact address in Hong Kong. IOHK works on Cardano blockchain and wallet. The founders are Charles Hoskinson (formerly Ethereum CEO) and Jeremy Wood. This team has scientists and programmers in its ranks.
Emurgo - a Japanese company that takes care of business in Japan and invests in startups. Emurgo is also trying to find use for Cardano blockchain.
Cardano is an open source project that builds on a peer-to-peer review - it works so that one small dedicated team of scientists and developers is working on some parts of the system. Another team then makes a review and research to find mistakes and weaknesses. Found defects are corrected or reshaped. Again a great community approach! It will know the resulting quality of the project. It should be noted that this system of development is, however, compared to other projects that are often often attempted / mistaken.

Future, ideas and opinions
The Cardano project is very transparent. Every decision is searchable on the web, updates the roadmap regularly, publishes monthly status, Charles Hoskinson regularly blogs and has very interesting videos about youtube (he is also a frequent guest of youtubers).
The Traxia project (a competition for Populous) will build its platform on Cardan. He's moving from Etherea.
Just as the cryptocurrency does not yet have any significant advantage over BTC and LTC, as it is not yet decentralized (but it will change in the months to come). As a smart contract platform will come late, like other competitive projects. The market is now dominated by Ethereum and NEO, and it will be difficult, if not impossible, to cope with them. If Ethereal can deploy POS, sharding and other functionality, it can be a king for a long time. NEO will be able to get a good second and Cardano can be hard to catch up with this train. The peer review and scientific approach is good in terms of quality, but the market often dominated those who delivered the average product, which they gradually improved.
Cardano plans to deploy an ATM throughout Japan in 2018. In the future they expect credit cards to be issued.
Regarding the quality of processing, Cardano will be one of the best projects in the cryptosphere. It is often said that investing is in a team, not an idea. Cardan is paying this one hundred percent. The question, however, is whether quality makes people, businesses, banks and Cardano institutions use it.
I like the little details that I choose only: for their crypt, they have chosen the name ADA, making them alphabetical in the first place ;)
Conclusion
Cardano is a solid investment in a quality project with the opportunity to reach $ 5 to $ 10 at the end of the year. Currently, Cardano is ranked 7th on the coinmarketcap and has approximately 8.5x less capitalization than Ethereum. Do not overlook!
