hello steemians
hope you have a nice day
welcome to my blog
the earth remain one of the beautiful and awesome creation with amazing and wonderful site to behold, some place have been marked with mysterious event which the possibilities have continue to elude the human mind how this things happen and why they even happen in the first place.
while scientist and research look for explanation to this activities that has been tag a mystery and awe the people other have resort to exploring this places as tourism centers and places for studies.
in my previous research i discuss extensively about some of this places but however in case you miss the first episode, you can as well read about it here.
in today's episode II i shall be exploring further some places that have been characterized with mysterious events.
so let's begin...
BERMUDA TRIANGLE
Are you familiar with the word flight 19, or the sudden disappearance of group of 5 U.S navy bombers in 1945, how about cargo ship EL FARO with 33 on board that vanished in 2015.
i bet you don,t know, all this are event that occur around the Bermuda triangle.
Over time the Bermuda triangle has remain one of the greatest life mysteries. This strange region lies in the North Atlantic Ocean between Bermuda Maimi and San JUAN, Puerto RICO, the Bermuda has presumably been the cause of dozens and dozens of mind boggling disappearance of ships and planes.
The mystery behind the disappearance of plane and ships has continue to elude the mind of people though researches have attempt to determine what has caused hundreds of planes to mysteriously disappear in what is known as the Bermuda triangle weather is truly mysterious depends on if you believe something out of the ordinary may be responsible for the seemingly overabundance of disasters and inexplicable disappearance that take place in this area.
The vicinity of the Bermuda triangle is amongst the most heavily traveled shipping lands in the world with ships frequently crossing through it for ports in the America, Europe and the Caribbean’s island cruise ships and pleasure craft regularly sail through the region and commercial and private aircraft routinely fly over it.
Plenty unexplained circumstances associates with Bermuda triangle lore top of this stories includes that of the flight 19, the disappearance of group of 5 U.S navy bombers who become disoriented while flying over the area in 1945; the plane where never found and also the sudden disappearance of the rescue plane that was sent to look for them.
Other stories includes also the mysteries of us Cyclops that result in the largest non-combat loss of life in the U.S navy history, the ship with a crew of 309 went missing in 1918, even with the recent record of the cargo ship EL FARO with 33 on board vanished in that area in 2015, all happening in good weather without even radioing distress messages.
Altogether as far as we know 75 planes and hundreds of ships met their demise in the Bermuda triangle
Lots of mind myriad fanciful theories have been proposed regarding the Bermuda triangle which ranges from paranormal, electromagnetic interference that cause compass problems, bad weather, the gulf stream, and large undersea field of methane. But do this really explain the cause behind the catastrophe?
Some theories proposed by meteorologist claim that the reasons for the mysteries pervading the Bermuda triangle area are unusual hexagonal clouds creating 170 mph air bombs full of wind. These are pockets cause all the mischief, sinking ships and downing planes.
By studying imagery records from a NASA satellite the scientist concluded that some of these clouds reach 20 to 50 miles across, waves inside these wind monsters can reach as high as 45 feet, what more the clouds have straight edges.
according to Colorado state university satellite meteorologist Dr. Steve Miller to science channels: “what on earth” you don’t physically see straight edges with clouds most of the time clouds are random in their distribution
Meteorologist Randy Cerveny added: “the satellite imagery is really bizarre …. The types of hexagonal shapes over the ocean are in essence air bombs. They are formed by what are called microbursts and they are blast of air that come down out of the bottom of a cloud and then hit the ocean and then create waves that can sometimes be massive in size as they start to interact with each other.”
Anything caught within this region of this air bombs could be very well knocked out of the air, flipped over, sunk. Although more observations are needed to confirm this theory that could finally explain many of the infamous Bermuda triangle events.
While some persons are convinced with the experts saying that hexagonal clouds also occur in other parts of the world others are still skeptical about it and there are no evidence strange disappearances taken place more often in the Bermuda triangle area then elsewhere.
BLOOD FALLS, ANTARCTIC
How is it that the coolest and driest place on the planet has blood-red waterfall pouring down slowly into Mcmurdo dry valley, some of the most extreme desert lands on earth?
What is responsible for the mysterious flow was only recently discovered in a study by a team from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
The first red falls was first discovered in Antarctica in 1911 where scientist noticed a river had stained the surrounding cliff of ice with a dark red color, previously the early scientist believed that it was due to algae discoloring the water, however this hypothesis were never verified.
But now research has reviewed the true origin of the blood falls flowing the Taylor Glacier, the red color is due to oxidizing iron in brine saltwater, the same process that gives iron a dark red color when it rust.
When the iron bearing saltwater comes into contact with oxygen the iron oxidize and takes on a red coloring in effect dying the water to a deep red color.
Sources of the water
The water is sourced from a brine lake beneath the taylor glacier, which over time has picked up iron from the underlying bedrock, the iron rich in brine which is under high pressure due to the overlying glacier is injected through fissures in the glacier as it attempts to make it way towards lower pressure.
LONGYEARBYEN, NORWAY
Longyearbyan is the largest settlement of Svalbard Norway, the town is located at longyear valley and on the shore of adventforden a bay of isfjorden located on the west coast of Spitsbergen.
The town was established and named after john munro longyear, an American who started the Antic coal company in the early 1900s longyearbyen means longyear city in Norwegian,
Now if you are wondering why it’s called longyearbyen it most certainly has to do with the fact that the city stays in the shadow for a third of the year, the sun sets each year for the last time on October 25 and it does not officially rise again until march 8, for voyagers who come here during the winter prepare for darkness,
Solfestuka is a practice where the people take a whole week to celebrate the return of the sun, the whole town gathers on the steps of the old hospital at 12:15 to await it arrival.
