A friend phoned me and I readily agreed when she said, “Let’s play tourist for the day and go to Cavenish and North Rustico.”
We drove north about 100 km (60 miles as the crow flies) and our first stop was at the Dunes Studio Gallery and Cafe at Brackley Beach area.

There were many interesting things, such as, paintings, sculptures and souvenirs to see on the many levels of the gallery but the outside gardens were the most amazing.

We were getting a bit hungry and each had a bowl of some kind of a squash soup, iced coffee and a big slice of spice cake at the cafe. The soup was one either of us had before. It had a different flavour with pleasantly warm spices.

After our lunch we toured the beautiful garden behind The Dunes cafe.

Edible flower bed. I didn’t attempt to eat any.:)

A scarecrow to keep watch.

The pond with the lily pads was lovely.

Being a tourist for the day, I felt it only right to purchase a souvenir from The Dunes. I think the wooden duck will be useful as a doorstop. Awww it is cute with the little hat. :)

I hope you enjoyed our stop at The Dunes. We did go on and stop at many more attractions and I arrived back home about seven hours later.
