Hello Steemians,
Today I am going to present you my good addresses in Amsterdam!

I already spent a few weeks in the Netherland’s capital. Amsterdam is a place I appreciate for different reasons. The first one is the food, you can find original places without spending a lot of money. The second one is the walks near the canals, so peaceful. And finally, there are a lot of things to visit. I am going to give you a few tips and addresses to spend a good time in Amsterdam.
If you want to spend a weekend in Amsterdam, you can book a few nights in a youth hostel. It’s cheap and you can meet other people. You can also find nice cheap hotels if you want more privacy.
In this article, I’m going to share with you the activities I enjoyed. Next time, I’ll give you a few food addresses.
What to do in Amsterdam :
Anne Frank house: The Anne Frank house is well known worldwide for its history. It traces all the content of Anne’s diary. You’ll visit the house where Anne had to go hiding during the second world war to escape Nazis. During the exhibition, you are going to have the opportunity to learn a lot about the Jewish persecution.
If you want to avoid the queue I advise you to book your tickets in advance on their website (Here).
The museum is open every day from 9 am to 11 pm. Here is the address: Prinsengracht 267, 1016 GV AMSTERDAM. What about the prices? It’s 9 euro for an adult and 4,50€ if you are aged between 10 and 17 years old.

Bike ride: If you visit Amsterdam, pay attention to the cyclist! It’s well known that Dutch people enjoy traveling by bike. The cyclist is the king in Amsterdam. As a pedestrian, you should avoid putting yourself in their path! However, I advise you to visit Amsterdam by bike. They are bike paths everywhere. It is so enjoyable to stroll along the canals. Many itinerates are available. I did the mill road. It was great and so pleasant. I had the opportunity to enjoy cheese and beer when we stopped in a mill. They are a lot of bike rental companies in Amsterdam. For 7€ it is possible to rent a bike for the day. So affordable!

De begijnhof : « Beguine » in English. It is considered as one of the “most extraordinary places” in Amsterdam. Behind the Catholic aspect, you can find a beautiful and quiet place. You can walk into the begijnhof and enjoy the view of the wonderful houses. It is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm. The entry is free. You also get the opportunity to visit the chapel.

Bloemenmarkt: The flower market is a beautiful place to visit. It is so colorful with the exhibition of all the different flowers. You can find tulips of every single color. And even if you are not a flower addict, it’s worth it. In addition to flower sellers, there are little shops with fun souvenirs. The place is open daily from 9 AM to 7.30 PM.

Coffee shop: It is a Place where you can find and consume weed. As most of you know, weed is legal in Amsterdam. Coffee shops are open for everyone who is older or 18 years old. Even if it is not your thing, it is an experience to visit one. You’ll find all kinds of different atmosphere. They are places where you can read books or play board games with your friends. It is definitely something to do!
Shopping: Kalvestraat, Nieuwendijk and Hoofstraat are the biggest streets to do some shopping. You can find innovative and creative shops! They are a lot of concept stores.
If you want to bring back a souvenir, why not a good Dutch cheese? Gouda of course! You can find this popular cheese everywhere. I decided to bring one back with me and I can tell you my friends were happy that I did.
Shops are open every day, even on Sundays. Open hours: from 10 AM to 8 PM. On Monday shops open a bit later.
Here is the end of what I enjoyed doing and visit in Amsterdam! I hope it will help you plan your next trip. I’ll come back with the Food addresses in another article. See you soon!
