Pastor Greg Locke is the lead evangelist pastor at Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Pastor Locke has amassed a large following over the past decade with over 850,000 followers on Facebook. Pastor Locke has a strong "message to all you cop hating thugs" which sounds like the logical fallacy poisoning the well.
Let's break his rant down:
"Hey guys, Pastor Greg Locke here, and as a pastor, let me say something. I'm sick and tired of news media covering these gang banging thugs that are targeting our law enforcement officers all over this country."
Logical fallacy, appeal to authority and moral high ground. How does being a pastor have any bearing on this topic? If you are sick of it then turn off the news, or move to a different country. ;-)
"We need to be reminded that the United States of America is not governed and policed by foul mouth rappers who need to pull their pants up and get a belt."
Logical fallacy, ad hominem. Declaration of Independence "Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed". Consent of the governed... The framers of the Constitution didn't add in a dress code.
"Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every single day for pennies on the dollar, very few benefits, and yet we want a broad stroke and say because one, or two, or three make a poor decision then they're all bad. Are you kidding me?"
Logical fallacy, red herring. Pennies on the dollar? That could be, because taxation is theft. Here is some info on career risk. Police had a median annual pay of $56,130 and 15.96 fatalities per 100k; 77 officer fatalities so far in 2016. This includes all fatalities not only targeted murders. Garbage collectors had a median annual pay of $32,720 and 33.16 fatalities per 100k. Police get close to double the pay and half the fatalities than garbage collectors.
"I'm a pastor and I thank god for the calling upon my life, but even in my occupation and my profession there are more crooked preachers then there are crooked police officers."
Logical fallacy, appeal to authority, moral high ground, and not as bad as. Again with the pastor argument. It brings nothing to the debate. So if people think that police do nothing but violate rights and harass the citizens of this country why would he think it would help his argument by saying his peers, and himself, are more corrupt than the police? Scary, right?
"If I would have disrespected a law enforcement officer when I was growing up my grandfather would have knocked me to the floor and ask questions after I pulled myself up; and doesn't matter what color you are. A thug is a thug. And the crowd of political correctness is you can't use the word thug that's the new N word, really? I know a lot of white boys that want to be Eminem who need to have their mouth washed out with soap and they're nothing more than criminalized thugs."
Logical fallacy, incomplete comparison and moral high ground. So they are criminalized thugs if they like and want to be Eminem? A thug is defined as "a violent person, especially a criminal". Police fit this description as well.
"Ladies and gentlemen we've raised a generation of smart mouth narcissistic individuals who have no reverence and respect for authority whatsoever, and then we wonder why this nation is in the absolute mess that it's in. You see folks when it all goes down, and it will go down, I'm standing on the side of law enforcement. We need a commander-in-chief that'll put on a suit and tie, stand before the American people, and let them know that we fully emphatically and passionately support law enforcement officers. Those that wear the uniform deserve our love, our compassion, our understanding, and our respect."
Logical fallacy, moral high ground. People have a right to be narcissistic. Why do people many want to violate the rights of others? If you want to violate the rights of others, then you are what is wrong with this world. A war is coming because of people like this who fuel the hatred and support the state. The statism and cognitive dissonance is strong with this one. There is no law too small that the government will not kill you over. The current position of a police enforcement officer when they make victims out of victimless crimes, violating our rights (including constitutional rights), should not be revered and should be opposed at every step that restricts our freedoms.
"They have a thoroughly difficult job. The next time you have an accident, or some idiot breaks into your house, you're not going to call 411 information. You're going to 911 emergency because you know a sworn in officer, of the law, is going to show up to protect and to serve. Let's thank God for those who wear the uniform and not be so abrasive and vindictive towards them. Their job is difficult enough as it is, ladies and gentlemen, and what they need is our love, our prayers, and our support."
Logical fallacy, false dilemma. The case Warren V. District of Columbia said that "the duty to provide public services is owed to the public at large, and, absent a special relationship between the police and an individual, no specific legal duty exists". Meaning police do not have to show up and protect you. Police response times average around 8 to 14 minutes.
"And now let me be real straight up with you. Black lives matter, sure they do, all lives matter. But let me tell you something about that liberal godless organization. They don't care about black lives. They care about pitting America against each other. They want to turn Americans against law enforcement. They would love nothing more than another Civil War in this nation, and there is no way around that fact. Black lives matter are no better than Nazis, and the KKK, and I'm here to tell you if that makes you mad then you clicked on the wrong video today. So in closing let me say to all of you law enforcement officers. I think God for you. I appreciate you and I respect you. When you pull me over for speeding I'm gonna man up and take my ticket without sticking a camera in your face and screaming about my rights. Thank you for what you do. May God bless you and God bless your family, and may God bless the United States America."
What are your thoughts on the Black Lives Matter organization? Does BLM they hate black people and want to pit America against each other? Do you think Pastor Locke's thinking will lead to a self fulfilling prophecy? Do you think BLM is like the KKK or Nazi's? Do you think Pastor Locke is a Trump supporter?
Does he realize that Trump is a national socialist? Ironic...
Regardless if you agree with Pastor Locket people have the right to protest against police violence and the systemic racism found throughout the United States law books. As you can see from the last part Pastor Locke is OK with giving up HIS rights but sadly he wants to give up yours with his choice, because reasons... Why do people feel like they deserve the right to force their morals and ideals on others?
Statism is one helluva religion and drug...
Did I miss any logical fallacies?
