I don't like paying for things that you can get for free. I don't like paying for things that I don't feel it is worth it. That is why I have been using AVG Free as my virus program for years, and I haven't even thought about upgrading to the paid version named AVG Internet Security.
But then, two days ago, I just did a virus check for fun. It found nothing at all, but an ad showed up speaking of the dangers of ransomware and other similar attacks that often take place on the Internet. I checked what the price would be to upgrade and I saw that the price for one device was $25 and I could get a license for 10 devices at the price of $35. Do you know what I did? I read some more about the differences between the paid version and the free version (and noticed that there actually are some differences) and then I decided to buy the multiple license version for ten devices. Maybe it is a waste of money, but still - I'd rather be on this said and regret buying, than not buying, and regretting!

Taking the price into perspective!
If you have a computer or a cell phone or both with lots of confidential information, programs, log-in keys, and so much more, then you are at risk, in one way or another. Of course, who would ever bother to attack me? I highly doubt that I am in the danger zone, and I believe that using common sense and watching out for phishing links on websites and emails will help you a lot! However, when I noticed the price, I thought... I'd rather add an extra layer of safety and stay safe than feel sorry about the money now and feel even more sorry at a later point in history when what I will lose might be way more.
I am not sure if you can follow my logic here, but to me, this is all about doing my uttermost to keep my devices safe and protected.
What are you doing? Are you using any antivirus software? A free version of some program like AVG or Avira, or are you using something else?
