Nothing makes me want to switch to a MAC than computer issues. I have a desktop and laptop, and while the laptop is great for what I need it for, about 90% of the time, that other 10% it can be a pain. It only has 16GB of RAM and is limited to a integrated GPU.
However, my desktop has been acting up lately, to the point that I had to reset the OS and start from stratch, and then just now, it tripped the UPS.
So I can either spend the rest of the day troubleshooting it, after I spent 1/2 a day on the weekend (and a whole day last week) troubleshooting OS issues OR unplug it, put it to the side and just limp along with my laptop.
Why not MAC?
Well there are two reasons, and the big one is I actually design things for the real world VS just software.
MACOS is garbage when it comes to engineering design tools that are used in industry. And since it is a closed ecosystem those tools are never going to be ported to that OS.
The other reason is price, jesus christ how do people afford this e-waste? At least with my underpowered laptop I can upgrade it as I have the funds. The M1 and M2 silicon is just e-waste when the time comes to upgrade, and that is IF I was even able to do work with it.
Anyway, that is all the complaining for today, until next time.
