Hello Dear Steemit Friends! Today is Wednesday: Architectural Photography!

This building was erected by the cedula of King Philip III of Spain dated July 16, 1611, although its opening was delayed until 1618.
Initially it was the College of Mérida, a seminar in charge of the Society of Jesus until 1767 because of the expulsion of the Society of Jesus from the Spanish dominions by King Charles III of Spain. As a result of this the middle and higher education was totally absorbed by the Conciliar Seminary of San Ildefonso, institution founded in 1751 also known as the Royal and Pontifical University of Merida
It is currently the Central Building of The Autonomous University of Yucatan, or UADY (Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán), which is an autonomous public university in the state of Yucatan, Mexico.

Este edificio fue erigido por la cédula del rey Felipe III de España del 16 de julio de 1611, aunque su apertura se demoró hasta 1618.
Inicialmente fue el Colegio de Mérida, un seminario a cargo de la Compañía de Jesús hasta 1767 a causa de la expulsión de la Compañía de Jesús de los dominios españoles por el rey Carlos III de España. Como resultado de esto, la educación media y superior fue totalmente absorbida por el Seminario Conciliar de San Ildefonso, institución fundada en 1751 también conocida como la Real y Pontificia Universidad de Mérida.
Actualmente es el Edificio Central de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, o UADY. (Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán), que es una universidad pública autónoma en el estado de Yucatán, México. Fuente
