The architecture studio Matter has really succeeded in renovating and enlarging a house 110 years old, completely dilapidated, in an old neighborhood of Auckland in New Zealand.
The house which is now 300 m2 is a beautiful mix of old and contemporary structures. The street side facade is very classic, while the garden side, it is modern and very visual thanks to a coating composed of strips of horizontal wood. The spaces of the house have been redefined to leave room for volumes and natural light.
