I love to use the broken shells to make a clasp. I think it adds to the uniqueness. This is a anklet i made myself but think i need to add some space.
So i always get asked " what is seaglass? And where does it come from?" Well seaglass is any kind of glass that has been tumbled in the ocean. Some people say it takes 10+ years to get a perfect piece, but ive seen glass tumbled in 3 months in the ocean and be ready💙 . I think it all just depends on the kind of sand and or rocks that are tumbling the glass.
What makes seaglass so beautiful i think is the mystery of it. Though each piece is special, there are so many colors and some more rare than others. Green, clear and brown are the most common because most come from old beer and soda bottles. Blues are becoming more common as well because bud light has started making glass bottles again. Purples come from old medicine bottles as well as different glass wear from ship wrecks. Red and yellow are top 2 rare colors. If you ever look into seaglass you will find so much info on it.
I have just started using seaglass in my jewelry line in the last 3 years so i still have so much to learn as well. It takes me about 10 mins to drill each piece of glass with a diamond bit, and i drill in a bowl of water . Ill do a post on that i hope ine day.. its just having to take pictures to go with it.
Well thank you again for stopping by and aloha for your support ♥️💙🌺l
