One piece is the best selling manga of all time with how the story flows, how creative and humorous the characters are, its not hard to fall in love with this anime/manga. With that being said, I made a DIY Gomu Gomu Fruit, yeah you read that right its the main protagonist's devil's fruit none other than Monkey D. Luffy.
Gomu Gomu no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that gives the user's body the properties of rubber, making the user a Rubber Human (ゴム人間 Gomu Ningen?). It was originally a treasure that Shanks and his crew took from an unspecified enemy, but was accidentally eaten by the series protagonist Monkey D. Luffy. In the second version of Romance Dawn, it originally belonged to Luffy's grandpa who took it from an unspecified enemy
So for a start let me show you some snaps of the creation process or how it progress whatever the case may be. By the way before that let me tell you first the materials that I used;
Poster Paint (HBW brand)
Its cheap than most other brand so that's why I purchased it.
Paper Clay (Jovi)
Again A cheap one alhtough you can somehow create it at your home.
And some necessary tools
CREATION PROCESS
Note : The process is actually in the video above but yeah for the better let me show you some extra details regarding this process.
- Step 1 : Create a Ball or Sphere-shape
Get some enough amount of paper clay knead it first for some time(it's very important) and then mold it into a ball-shaped figure using both hands or palms to be precise. It will serve as the base for our Gomu Gomu No Mi. Oh another important factors to consider is that paper clay is like a cement which is easy to dry which hardens pretty quick, and for that very reason you need to apply some water on it.
- Step 2 : Make Strips out of Paper Clay
You can see in the left corner the ball-shaped right? Now let's make some strips out of paper clay as well and this will serve as the circula-like patterns of the devil fruit.
- Step 3 : Make a Twirly Shapes and Stick in on the ball
Now mold or roll the strips to create a twirly "S" figure which we can be seen as the characteristics of the Gomu Gomu No mi. After doing that stick it into the ball we created earlier, oh if you're wondering how does it stick you can mix the paper clay in some few drops of water and this can be used like an adhesive without ruining the figure.
- Step 4 : Create the Stem of the Fruit
Now create the stem part of the devil fruit, I used some tiny wires as the base of it for it to hold the paper clay while its still not hard to hold its own.
- Final Step : Paint the Finished Raw Product
Paint it using the poster paint purple color for the fruit and dark green for the stem. Do this until its done. For the actual video you can watch in on dtube right above this post.
