Last winter I painted this work for the Winter Exhibition.
It was based on a small black and white illustration I made earlier. I usually paint landscapes, so trying out to make a manga-style painting was something completely new for me :)
去年の冬展示のために描いた一枚の油絵です。
普段は風景を描いていますので、初めて漫画イラストを油彩に描き起こしました。実際のイラストは１５センチくらいの小さなもので、５０x５０センチのキャンバスにそれを描き直すのはとても新鮮でした。ワクワクしながら線と彩色をゆっくり考えて、描いたものです。
Considering that the original illustration is only about 10-15 cm big, this 50 x 50 cm oil painting was a challenge.
Especially I had to contemplate on how to translate the sharp ink line into brush strokes, and which colours to use :)
My new professor really likes hard boiled👻, noir subject matter, so he always asks me where is the blood💉 in the painting, or advises on adding a knife or a gun somewhere to give it more edge 🔪 🔫
That's why I gave the protagonist a bloody nose 😅 🔫

私の新しい先生はハードボイルド👻、探偵小説などが大好きです。「絵に血💉や、ナイフ🔪、ピストルがあった方がエッジが出て面白い！」と先生がよくアドバイスをします。
少し考えて、この子に鼻血を出せました😅 🔫。
エッジを出せるまではまだ少し時間がかかる気がします。
The character on her sweater is John Silver from an old Soviet animation "Treasure Island". He was a real yunkster ^^
セーターのキャラはソ連時代のアニメ「宝島」に出てくる海賊ジョン・シルバーです
