I am taking my #bicscrawl prompt from @brokemancode who is doing a 30 day haiku challenge.
I have decided to combine the two into my own challenge.
@brokemancode is combining the art of photography and haiku.
When I get up in the morning I will read their post and interpret it's theme in my own way.
The girlbeforemirror way.
Which I admit can be a lose association.
The title of today's haiku is -
Spring
You can check out @brokemancode's lovely post and photo of pristine water here.
...and for my interpretation-
Spring
A twisted coil
Contorted tightly contained
The promise of bounce.
I have Ehlers danlos syndrome. It effects the connective tissue in my body. Among many things it makes a person bendy, or at least it does until the damage sets in.
I used to do a lot of weird party tricks with my joints.
Now they have a lot of damage and dislocate frequently. The soft tissue that holds them in place is faulty and stretchy and painful too.
Sometimes my posts will be brief because doing anything hurts.
It's not 8am yet. I have dislocated ribs and right thumb today already, and my left shoulder subluxed (partially dislocated) in my sleep.
I also literally have a bobble head that doesn't hold itself up due to instability of my spine. Sometimes I manually hold my head with my and pop my thumb in the process. I bought a spinal collar a little while ago, but it wasn't the miracle I had hoped it would be.
I am not seeking pity.
I decided to start doodling and stop waiting for a rescue. #doodleordie was born from that too.
I committed to being more transparent and real by reengaging again on steemit in a creative and positive way, in order to present a more real picture of the girl before the mirror.
I am using @brokemancode #thirtydayhaikuchallenge tag.
I also use #onehumanbasket which is the poetry curator tag for long time steemit poetry curator @robyneggs.
