I don't know where that came from, because I don't usually use "Howdy" in my normal life, but I started to type and there it was!
It's been a fun week, well, if your idea of fun is hobbling around every day because your knee is being persnickety. For real though, I have still been glad that I could get around some, which is MUCH better than NONE! It might be a little bit better, but it's kind of hard to tell for sure, with the advil, topical knee gel, knee straps ..... and you know. It is wonderful that we have all those things to help us when parts of our bodies are being fussy.
Sitting though, it all feels just fine!.... and since sitting is what I am normally doing when I am playing at my art table, I could still do that part all I wanted.
This is a fun piece I "think" I finished last night. It's not I think I did it last night, because I know I did, but just that, sometimes I think something is finished and find out later it was not when I come across ONE more piece of paper that thinks it needs to jump on. For now though, I am calling it finished. I thought it should be named something like "A Window To My Life" as if I am viewing back all I have come through to this point.... all the colorful parts. You see somebody standing and looking through the window... right? It could seem like some other vibe to you and that is ok. Isn't that the beauty of abstracts? Sometimes they have many different messages.
A close up of the center section.
A few nights ago I didn't get to art playing till late. I didn't have a lot of time. Everything I do takes longer because I am traveling slower and I always seem to under estimate how long things will take me to do. LOL !! Life is funny. So I made this tiny collage tree. I did think after that it looked more like a colorful balloon tree.
Further back.... I will put it with my other tiny art and one day, it could end up in a larger piece of art or on a homemade greeting card or the such. It would make quite the cute birthday gift card I would think. After I typed that I thought "hmmmm, people usually just rip those off and throw them out with the ripped off wrapping paper" ... ha ha.... It's not that I think people should revere my art, but it should be worth a second look at least....before it goes in the trash bin. 🤣 Maybe I won't use it as a gift tag.
Earlier in the week I made this one, It looks wonky because it is on a single piece of water color paper and it warped a bit when it got wet by the glue I used. No matter, that happens all the time in my play journal. LIke the one at the top, I have been playing with making some pieces that use not only my happily painted collage papers, but also bits from some of the books I have bought from the thrift stores. This one is another one that gives off a little bit of a different/better vibe from a distance instead of just close up. The blues, yellows and dark corals really pop against each other.
When I take photos and post them, they all appear to be about the same size, but they are not usually the same. A photo that shows the difference in these. For size reference, the one on the far right is a 6x8 inch canvas board.
I stayed up late last night once again, so slept till nearly mid morning. I haven't done anything valid yet, as in housework. I am sipping a second cup of coffee though and am enjoying it and doing only fun stuff.
I hope you have had a good week and that your weekend is fantastic either way.
