i had the boat picture from "The Simpsons'" house in mind when i made this for my living room wall. i scavenged a load of nice bits of driftwood off the local beaches, arranged it then hot-glued it, then painted in the background. i wanted the sails to stick out of the canvas. i didn't want to accidentally snap the mast when i moved house. :/
