Here is a painting I created of an African leopard on fallen tree.
I painted in acrylics on canvas and when dry I used oils over the top. The size is quite large at 39" x 31".
I just love painting nature and this was one of my first ventures into using oil which I found fairly difficult because I was used to acrylics. It took about 30 hours in all and if you saw this in real life you could see all the deatil I put into it. Many people have said that it looks 3D as if you could took it and the fur looks so soft as if it was real.
This is one of the works I am uploading to show the history of my painting and how I have progressed over the past 3 years or so. Hopefully you will see the improvement as I go along?
This was painted a year ago when I was getting back into painting after a two decade break.
If you have been following my latest uploads you should see that I am now at a stage where improvement is coming along quite well now and I am very happy with the result of this one. I thought I would share some older paintings though so that people can see how I have improved through time. I give a lot of thanks to all the artists out there sharing their process which helped me develop. I will be sharing newer paintings as I go along, and the photo quality gets better too. I have also done some time lapse videos so you can see my process better.
I really do appreciate any comments and constructive criticism as I go along this path of learning.
Thanks for clicking, peace!
