I would like to share the reason l started drawing
with both hands. When l was twelve years old my
second oldest brother and l were trying to do kung fu and wrestling. Being careless like most kids and teenagers
we I assumed no one would get hurt. Not the case.
While we were wrestling my brother Marc decided to Flip me over his back unfortunately for me I landed on my right wrist with most of my weight dislocating my wrist bone. Which was no longer straight almost looked like a S shape. Doing what most teenagers and kids do my stupid brother decided to pull it to straighten it out. Then there was a pop noise and my wrist went limp. My oldest brother called my mother who worked for Hennepin County medical center and told her my wrist was broken she rushed home immediately and took me to the emergency room. At the time I really didn’t know what was going on because I was dizzy and almost passed out.
After the doctor put my cast on my mother took me
home and l went right to sleep. The first two weeks using my left hand instead of right was challenging and stressful at the time. Getting dressed and eating was so frustrating. As the weeks went by my dexterity with my left hand got better
I began to create drawings that amazed my mother.
Eating and dressing with my opposite hand starting
being more natural. I almost forgot about using my right hand.
Even after six weeks when the cast was removed
I still found myself using my left hand first. Eventually
l went back to my right hand. Should of never stop
using both. So now that l know l can master both
the excitement l felt as a twelve year old has returned.
WATCH OUT HERE I COME!
