Did you know that The Akans in Ghana has a distinct and a very unique representation of their concepts and cultural expressions? Their values and many other traditions are expressed in a very unique manner always. This is what we call Adinkra symbols. Adinkra is visual symbols that represent the cultural values and heritage of the Ashanti Kingdom. The symbols do have a special message it gives out to everyone.
Most of them are extensively used in some of the fabrics and poetry in the Ashanti Kingdom. The ideas and values these values represent are so powerful and highly recognized by most Ghanaians, especially among the Akans. Adinkra is so beautiful and attractive to use.
I share with steemians some Adinkra symbols that are made on walls. This is a beautiful sculpture made by with many different Adinkra symbols which I share with Steemians.
I really do not get much into knowing adinkra symbols but in the photos I share are symbols such as
Gye Nyame(except God)
Sankofa(going back)
This is the beauty of the Ashanti culture here in Africa, Ghana. Thanks for your time today and always.
