About 2 hours from Las Vegas, Chloride, Arizona is an old silver mining town.
We saw a sign that said 'mural', and followed arrows painted on rocks for a mile and a half out of town on a road that definitely required a high clearance vehicle. There was nowhere to turn around, so once we had started, we were committed!
Later research told us that artist Roy Pucell painted this mural that he had titled 'The Journey' in the high desert country in 1966. It certainly had a 60s feel about it.
Automotive paints were used and have held their vibrant colors.
We saw a few people hiking in, but it was definitely not a site crowded with tour buses!
