Another set of quick paintings from life. The ones on the left are 20 minute poses and I believe the one on the right was either 40 min or one hour.
Quick study painting is a great exercise to train yourself to capture I guess you could call it a "color gesture" basically the main values and temperature changes blocked in roughly and quickly. I remember when painting these it was really interesting seeing how depending on how the light was hitting the model it would pretty drastically change how warm or cool the colors were.
