Portrait Study + Process Gif

Sup guys! This is a portrait demo I did a while back for my digital painting class that I teach. I also made a process gif from the layers in Photoshop.

So the process generally goes I do a rough sketch, then under that sketch on a separate layer I block in the colors and values. One of the nice things about digital is since it's infinitely flexible, I can keep my initial sketch pretty rough and just correct the drawing as I go. I'm impatient and tend to want to not be to precious about things so it works for me.

After things are blocked in I just refine until I feel like stopping or in this case run out of time as the class is over.
