I am usually acquainted with sketches. Yes, I am still not an expert in the field of pencils but I thought "why should I not try watercolor painting?" I was planning to buy H, 2B and 6B pencils but suddenly I wanted to try painting! (HAHA) My brother recently bought me a watercolor and so I started to unravel the world of watercolors.
I searched online on basic knowledge I need to know about watercolors and I was so inspired that I already want to make my own paint! Eventhough I was not really content with the output, I still am proud that at least I made it manageable, and thought oh well not bad for a first time :)
So, with no further ado, this is the result of my first post on the progress I am planning to share to you in the future days (especially it is summer and I do not have to think of the academics).
Firstly, I sketched using a 2B pencil my desired outline of the woman. Honestly, on this stage I am still hesitant if I am going to push through the painting and just make the portrait using pencils only but hey! I want to challenge myself so yeah here it is.
And so I chose color orange to lightly start with her skin tone. I am aware that water would make my paper crumple and make little waves but I still cannot afford to buy cold pressed paper (hehe) so I guess this can be managed though after it has all dried up. BTW, I just used a simple sketch pad that I own.
Then continued on her hair...
And finally...
Overall, I really felt that I would like to enroll in any art class! Hahah and I am now planning to really search for more tutorials online since I wanted to make my paintings fuller and not blunt. I am still not giving up with this watercolor world (hahah) so should you have any comments about my first time painting, that would be very much appreciated!
