This is my entry to @jacinta.sevilla's Easy Mini Art Contest with the theme Bird. Secret Garden by F. H. Burnett was one of my favorite childhood books. There is a cute little robin that the heroine, Mary, befriends and it ultimately leads her to the key that unlocks the door to the Garden.
Hiatus
It's been a while since I've posted anything in Steemit and drawn for a contest. It was quite a challenge re-learning the tools. This was painted with ArtRage Lite software.
Tools
I did the rough sketch with a pencil tool and added another layer of colored pencil on top.
I filled in the leaves with watercolor.
The wall, door, and ground were filled in with a paint roller.
Process
I added more details with colored pencils at the end. I also switched her outfit from a checked dark green to plain light blue to make Mary stand out more.
Done!
