A Christmas exploration of some of the Pre-Raphaelite and Arts and Crafts pictures and furnishings at Wightwick Manor.

Even though Wightwick Manor was built in 1887 by the industrialist Theodore Mander it is designed to look centuries older than a Victorian Manor. Located in the West Midlands, England, this has become one of my favourite places to journey to.
A huge pull for me is the Pre-Raphaelite Art collection, put together by Theodore's son Sir Geoffrey and Lady Mander. I have been a fan of Pre-Raphaelite art since I was a teenager, copies of Rossetti's and Millais' adorned my bedroom walls. I was fortunate to be able to regularly visit the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery which holds and amazing collection of Pre-Raphaelite art.
A selection of Art from Wightwick Manor
Jane Burden, Mrs William Morris (1839-1914) by Dante Gabriel Rossetti and completed by Ford Madox Brown after Rossetti's death.
The house is home to a wonderful collection of Pre-Raphaelite treasures including Edward Burne-Jones’s ‘Love Among The Ruins’. The work of Rossetti, Burne-Jones, Evelyn De Morgan, Lizzie Siddal and many more adorn the walls. If you want to read a little more into the history of the Pre-Raphaelites you may find their love lives just as fascinating, or go to one of the evening talks at Wightwick Manor.
De Morgan tiles
Glass windows
Homer and Geoffrey Chaucer by Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones
Beautiful interiors
Can you spot the William Morris designs in some of the wallpapers and soft furnishings?
Elegantly dressed for Christmas
