The world renowned graffiti artist Banksy (he does more than graffiti but thats what he's mainly known for) is raffling off an item from his Dismaland show that was based in Weston Super Mare in 2015 and was a sinister twist on Disneyland. Banksy described it as "a family theme park unsuitable for children".
The huge show was based at an old lido for about 5 weeks and featured works by Banksy and a whole host of other artists (48 or so) and I enjoyed it immensely as I was lucky enough to attend. I ignored the bit about it being unsuitable for children and took my kids anyway. The biggest problem was getting tickets as the huge demand caused the website to crash repeatedly but 150,000 people managed to get entry to the exhibition including many celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Jack Black, Russell Brand and British duo Ant & Dec.
The site also hosted gigs on the Friday nights featuring bands such as De La soul, Damon Albarn and Pussy Riot.
One of the featured exhibits was a take on a British traditional fairground boating lake with coin operated remote control boats but of course with a twist. The boats were made up off refugee boats and coastguard vessels.
Well now Banksy is raffling one of the boats for £2 per ticket and you also have to guess the weight of the boat, there are a couple of clues to help you with your guess. Of course being a Banksy piece it will be a valuable asset to whoever wins it.
All the money made form the raffle will be used to help refugees around the world.
