Hi Folks!
I am still really new to this whole community, so please bear with me as I fumble around at various hamfisted attempts to show people my craft. Since this is also the first Inktober I've participated in, it has been suggested that I upload all my inks, up until today. I think this is an awesome idea, and I really hope this will bring a little bit of enjoyment to your day :D !
Alright! Without further ado, let's begin the countdown!
---Day 1 - "Poisonous"---
Used my Samsung Note for this one since I still had to get a new sketchbook. It actually turned out close to what I expected, despite the tiny screen. Also, this is the only 'ink' in the series that will be digital. The rest will involve felt pens, brushes, markers and good ol' paper.
---Day 2 - "Tranquil"---
Didn’t feel very tranquil when I started this, but it was a good way to relax using pen and paper. After this attempt, I went out and got a less mangled felt pen. The previous one had mummified in my bag and was very stingy with ink.
---Day 3 - "Roast"---
This drawing achieved only one thing: Making me hungrier than I would have liked to be. I had to go raid my fridge afterwards.
---Day 4 - "Spell"---
My first image in the new sketchbook that I got specifically for this inktober :D ! Also picked up some shading felts along with a nice juicy brush.
---Day 5 - "Chicken"---
I am most proud of my Poultry Knight - w- ~♥
I can assure you his mighty steed, despite its namesake, has a most valiant and plucky heart!
---Day 6 - "Drooling"---
Woo~ 6 days so far and I wasn't too sure how I'd start this prompt. In the end though it was pleasant surprise. A little messier than expected but learnt a lot :D !
---Day 7 - "Exhausted"---
Gonna push for the whole month (ง •̀ω•́)ง✧ !
It still feels unfamiliar overall to use the inks, but I am really warming up to it.
---Day 8 - "Star"---
Onto week 2! I have rediscovered that absolute joy that is flat black [or at least a very dark grey :B ]. Also, this pattern making has been most enjoyable and I will expand on that aspect later on. Really happy with how her face and hair turned out :D !
---Day 9 - "Precious"---
I JUST realized I could have gone the whole Gollum route [was a bit of a slow brain morning], but I'm still happy with the little creature-ball.
The bright side of using inks I find is the 'final commit': intentional or not, that blob of ink is going in the finished piece, so you might as well work it in :3c
---Day 10 - "Flowing"---
Time to play around with backgrounds! Was a little apprehensive at first since I wasn't too sure how to approach it, so I went with a post-apocalytptic sci-fi setting of sorts. Win-win
---Day 11 - "Flowing"---
This was the first one that really stumped me, and I kind of let it sit for a bit. I returned to it later in the day adn decided to just roll with the concept.
---Day 12 - "Whale"---
Following Day 11's slow down, I decided to go for a simpler design for today. Something soft and round, and likes to swim in large bodies of water ;D
---Day 13 - "Guarded"---
This one was 100% fun to draw and came out with minimal fuss [much like day 3's Chicken]. I think the inherent cheekiness of the piece gave me a morale boost.
---Day 14 - "Clock"---
Wasn't too sure how to approach this particular prompt at first, but then good ol' Lewis Carroll popped up in the brain. It's funny now how a lot of us can easily associate rabbits and timepieces XD
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST dun dun dun
---Day 15 - "Weak"---
Another stumper! In this case, I just started with a pose I thought was relevant and then added stuff from there. Not what I had expected, but I am happy with it!
Phew There we go!
15 consecutive days of getting refamiliarised with traditional black and white media!
I really hope you folks enjoyed this incredibly long post [will probably stick to smaller ones from here on out].
Thank you for reading and I look forward to our next encounter!
Cheers!!!
