Lately I've been busy with everyday life and the process of building a new house for the family. It's been a stressful few months, so in my spare time to take my mind of things I've been experimenting with 3d modeling and animation.
Here my first attempt at realistic compositing with a photo I took in my local park.
A short process.
C4D Process
Starting with a ordinary image I started to plan what I should add to make it fairly interesting, and what could be more interesting then a UFO crash?
I quickly mocked up a UFO with a circular pattern and glowing outer rim, to make it you know...more alien.
Adding some landscape and scaling it down to match the UFO.
Positioning the scene so that it fits just right.
Added a light to simulate the sun and additional fill lights to make it more realistic and remove hard shadows.
Photoshop Process
Adjusting the saturation and brightness/contrast.
Next I added some dust / debris to fill the emptiness.
Adding some motion blur on the white areas only breaks down the black/white contrast.
Fog / mist is a must in all UFO crashes right...right?
Doing final brightness / contrast corrections
Lastly I added a slight green tint to give some drama, everyone loves drama.
