First I draw my outlines with pencil and use pen(Biro) as a medium to shade
The shading technique I use is crosshatching
I first prime the surface of the drawing with hatching(very faintly) and then crosshatch to get my values and highlights
And that's how I keep going hatching and crosshatching and adding details
The little paper is to prevent the sweat from my hand from smearing the surface as this makes it difficult to shade and the paper also is to rub the blot on the pen from staining the drawing I do this often
To get the darker parts of the drawing I add scribbling to get an even shade
And here we have the piece Done Identity Crisis
I then erase the gridlines afterwards
I hope this helps anyone interested in ballpen art though not detailed as I wished but you get the idea
