I feel this piece was worthy of a post by itself because it was a freestyle based sculpture where I just let myself go. No planning or sketching it out, I just started cutting. This is my therapy when I need it, which doesn't happen too often. But whenever I'm upset, frustrated or stressed, I'll break free from my mundane bear orders to create something original and truly one of a kind.
I give you the peacock feline:
After finishing it, I remember wishing it was taller so I could make it's tail bigger/longer so it would be more dramatic. To have more "wow" factor. But it was finished, nothing more could be done except display it in the showroom.
Here it is at 100% chainsaw
With a little refining...
Burned it good with the torch. Wanted a smooth look but raised grain.
Sanded all the char off and added whiskers. I used broom bristles.
Some finished pictures from other angles:
It took a little time to sell, as with any odd piece that I create. But I knew someone would buy it just because. I have a handful of clients that come in on the regular to see what I have that's unusual and original.
Carving this piece brought me great satisfaction. Even more so when the woman who bought it fell in love when she saw it.
I hope you enjoy seeing what I "saw" if so feel free to upvote and resteem.
Thanks for looking
