She was thinking how she can bring food to the table for her family since she is now a high school graduate. She knows it clearly her family could not afford tertiary education for her. She needs to share the burden instead of increasing it more.
"The first thing I will do tomorrow morning is to get hired, whether it is being a server or a dish cleaneror even a janitor. Maybe I can take up a few so Mum can stay at home to take care of Dad," Elaine thought to herself.
Elaine is actually a gifted person in the culinary cooking. She has a very special and unique palate to taste and smell. She discovered she could tell the ingredients apart by just tasting the food and she has the ability to replicate it. She knows it is quite impossible for her to explore more but perhaps working in a restaurant or the school cafeteria could still keep her near to her passion.
The next day, Elaine saw an opening to hire a server for a restaurant near her school. She was hesitating because she knew that her schoolmates like to hang out at the restaurant and she might get ridiculed. "Whatever! I need to bring food to the table, that's all that matters and that is my only priority now," she was determined and knew she just had to do it. "How hard can it be? It is just me bringing their food to the table, that's all," she shrugged her shoulders to comfort herself.

Yes, without any hassle, she got accepted to be one of the servers of the restaurant. She went through some trainings and she was put up to the restaurant front as the host. True enough, her schoolmates visited the restaurant and they whispered behind her. She felt embarrassed at first but she knows she did nothing wrong, it is a noble job after all.
One day, the owner of the restaurant needed some extra help in the kitchen because one of the sous-chef was ill and could not come in. Elaine went in to help with the food preps and because of her inborn talent, she did everything really fast and had no problem differentiating the ingredients. In fact, she gave some really good suggestions and the head chef actually heeded her. The dinner function that night turned out to be a great success and the owner had a great impression on Elaine. He promoted her to be one of the kitchen chefs from then on. Elaine was very dumbfounded because she had no qualifications in culinary cooking at all and yet he did not mind to let her try.
Later on, the owner bought in some food trucks and asked Elaine to manage the trucks. She created and improvised the menu to put out some delicious street food. The owner was so happy with the business profits she has brought in that he was willing to take her in as a business partner. She was just 23 then!
Today, Elaine stands as one of the youngest entrepreneurs of the country and she started her own brand, "Food-on-the-Table" on the go! She has food trucks and also her own restaurants which are always full-house and queues are seen outside of the reataurants. She is so thankful that on that day, she did not feel too embarrassed to take up the job of a server who literally brings food to the table. Everything seemed to fall into place since that day. Her family's living condition has greatly improved since then, only because she wanted to bring food to the table.
