Right nicotine strength is like the right perfume for your date or other significant occasions. Sometimes we need more nicotine to clear the mind, sometimes we just practice vapor tricks with less nicotine. When vaping, we enjoy not only the cloud exhaled from our mouth or immersing ourselves in our favorite flavor, but also feeling the hit in the lungs and throat. As the different nicotine strengths can bring various vaping experiences, these are some reasons to choose the right nicotine strength for our own preferences.
Nicotine strength has two factors, throat hit and satisfaction. A stronger throat hit is provided by higher a nicotine concentration. In contrast, the smoother throat hit can be due to lower nicotine levels. It is not as simple to say that either high or low nicotine concentrates are better than one another. However, the nicotine level is determined by what level we are used to inhaling. As for satisfaction, the nicotine strength might be too low to satisfy nicotine addicts such as ex-smokers, or too high, which cause headaches and nausea.
Nicotine strength in E-juice and nicotine salt
juice has nicotine levels from zero nicotine, 3mg/mL, 6mg/mL, 12mg/mL, and 18mg/mL, some brands or flavors also provide 24mg/mL and even 36mg/mL. Occasionally, the strengthsare shown in the percentage rather than in concentration, which is easy to understand. From percent to ‘mg/mL’, you can multiply percentage and total volume.
Nicotine salts, or nic salts, are also popular choices among vapers. It has higher nicotine strength without harshness factor, but can have less flavor and vapor production because it is relatively new. Beginners usually prefer to choose it since the nic salt typically comes with pod systems rather than sub-ohm vaporizers. Most ex-smokers start with the 6-12mg/mL because this volume is similar to the tobacco cigarette. If you are determined to quit smoking, I suggest you to start from lower nicotine concentrations.
If you are new to vaping, you should consider two factors when picking nicotine strength: existing smoking habits, and the type of device you are using. Since the nicotine is consumed at each puff, I will suggest vapers choose according to the vapor output.
As for ex-smokers who treat vaping as a replacement nicotine product, your crucial task is to have a successful transition. In the beginning, you can find the e-liquid which contains the same amount of nicotine as you have been used to. Then you are able to reduce the nicotine level gradually. Not massive or discreet clouds
Most vape devices, range from sub-ohm tanks to MTL tanks, can generate medium vapor production with medium nicotine concentration, such as 6-9 mg/mL of regular nicotine or 20-30 mg/mL of nicotine salts.

It is said that 0.3mg/mL or lower nicotine concentration is suitable for such vape devices. On the other hand, the high wattage mode is not recommended to use high nic salts e-juice, due to possible nicotine overdose, which usually happens when high power settings vaporizes the nic salts immediately.
