Pink is a Venus color!

Until February 10, 2018
Venus changed signs last Wednesday ... moving from cautious, self-controlled Capricorn into free-wheeling, fun-loving Aquarius. What a delightful change of pace we have for the next 4 weeks.
A change of signs by Venus means a shift in the way you perceive and deal with your relationships, your friendships and associates. It also changes the way you work with and handle your finances.
Relationships and material support are two of life's most important commodities ... and Venus rules them both. Mainstream astrology bills Venus as the symbol for "love and money" -- and yes, that's part of the story. But Venus deals with much, much more.
Let's talk about some of this for a better understanding. Venus is the first planet in this amazing contemporary Capricorn cluster to cross the border into a new situation. It will travel in Aquarius until February 10.

Venus and the Moon are perhaps the most feminine energies in Astrology ... and it would be difficult to quantify which of them actually wins the prize. It's more accurate though to say that The Moon and Venus, along with Neptune, are the yin energies in a planetary line-up heavy, heavy, heavy on the yang.
Venus (like Mercury) rules two Zodiac signs -- Taurus and Libra. As the ruler of Taurus, she symbolizes all the material things we use to physically support ourselves -- food, money, possessions. She gives information about how you deal with pleasure, sustenance, income and wealth. She shows the kinds of possessions that appeal to you, your spending habits ... and how you are suited to earn and manage income.
As the ruler of Libra, Venus shows how you relate to other people, especially in one-to-one partnerships. With its association to Libra, Venus describes your people skills, how you make connections with allies, how you deal with adversaries ... and to some extent it reveals "what love means to you."
It shows the attitudes you bring into your relationships and the kind of support and love you offer your partners -- and by extension, what you want from them. There are many different ways of "connecting" and making emotional attachments. Venus in your Natal Chart talks about yours.

Aquarius is an Air sign ... and hands-down the most intense, ingenious and intellectual sign in the Zodiac. This energy has a natural channel into the Collective Unconscious ... although the information it draws from there is usually more objective and cerebral than emotional. Aquarius simply "knows things" through a kind of peculiar osmosis ... and this is the wellspring of its renowned originality.
Aquarius is extraordinarily independent -- another trademark quality. Its citizens think differently than the rest of us ... and see the world differently as a result. Because thoughts, perceptions and perspectives are so powerful, they may literally occupy their own reality. Aquarians know this. (And the rest of us do, too.) What they don't know though is how to come down from their ivory towers and mingle with the masses.
Even words and language can mean something different to them in the way they use these tools to describe things and share experiences. The concepts from which they they work for sure operate on a higher, more distinctive level than ordinary theories and inspirations. Aquarius souls are literally a class unto themselves, and it takes a lot to keep up with one.

When Venus is in Aquarius -- which happens for at least 4 weeks every year -- people actively look for relationships and connections that emphasize friendship but allow for freedom, independence and experimentation. This energy takes a very progressive view when it comes to associations -- and what you want from them.
You may also be on the lookout for something "unusual" -- and you can pretty much take that any way you want. Aquarius is notorious for "wanting to try something different." Its originality is unsurpassed and it always looks for an innovative approach to old habits and traditions. This can mean you want to shake up your existing relationships ... for the sake of novelty -- with anything from kinky sex to thoughts of an affair to deciding you want to explore connections and possibilities with people outside your usual circle.
It can also mean you'll spend money impulsively ... or on unusual things. Out of character purchases are more common when Venus is in Aquarius ... and you may decide you want to try new possessions, new decorating ideas or a new personal style.
Maybe you'll find something that really suits you, but chances are ... after a few weeks of a "fling" with something new -- and possibly radical -- you'll go back to who you were, when Venus changes signs and moves into something more conventional. Have fun. Go a little crazy. But try not to dive into anything permanent.

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.
Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.
If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.
One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.
Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.
The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.
Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.
So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.
The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.
