We have a New Moon in Pisces happening tomorrow at 15 degrees of the sign of the Fish, and without doubt this one will be the most mystifying, chaotic and phantasmagorical of the whole year. The theme of this new Moon will be sacrifice, suffering and solitude, and the weird elusive nature of Pisces means that this New Moon, the beginning of a cycle, will occur in the sign of endings. The beginning of the end? Is this the real story of this New Moon in Pisces. No, there is much more to it than that although that statement may have more than a grain of truth to it.
The constellation of Pisces is made up of two fish tied by their tails swimming in different directions, thus Pisceans like the constellation they are born under can never make up their minds, will always be changing direction, or sometimes not even bothering to choose a direction to go in, and swim around in circles instead. They tend to go with the flow of the water, and sees where it takes them. Pisceans are impressionable, sensitive, utterly caring and are capable of the most selfless form of true love. They literally give themselves away to those they get attached to. This is a sign of fantasy, intuition and imagination, and because of the lack of barriers that Pisces puts up, that creative streak can delight and amaze, this is the sign of true magic and illusion. Pisceans are also very capable of misdirection and using it for gain, as they point one way while actually going in a completely different one, and while this ability to create an illusion may be intoxicating at first, it can also bring about confusion and a distinct lack of trust once the deception has been discovered. This is the sign of escape, of solitude and dissolution too, and Neptune, the planet connected to Pisces takes on all of these qualities as well.
Now as this New Moon perfects, it will be closely conjunct to Neptune, taking on the full force of the influence of this planet. There is a double dose of Piscean energy hitting us now, and so in true Piscean fashion, nothing will be off the table, there will be no rules now, we will be in free form mode, able to paint the picture for the future exactly as we imagine it to be. Firstly the good news. If you are in the process of starting up anything new, creative, something with vision, colour, music, art, imagination and intuition, you are on a total winner. The sky is literally the limit if you can act with complete freedom to create what is in your mind. Just set yourself free and fly, and by God, you will fly. The same will be true of any venture connected to health, welfare, giving your time for others, spirituality, healing, charity or caring for the disenfranchised and those on the margins of society. The compassion you can muster will be truly remarkable. The problems will come if you are in a position where you will have to try and adhere to a set of rules or conditions, or if you are trying to build something that is going to need a solid structure beneath it. Now, that is going to prove to be a completely different proposition entirely, and extremely tough to achieve.
If you have been following my work for the past few months, then you will know that I have made a big thing of Neptune sitting on two stars, Achernar and Ankaa, both sitting at 15 degrees Pisces. These stars produce fast moving fluid crisis situations (Achernar in Eridanus, the River) and a crash and burn approach (Ankaa in the Phoenix) where everything has to start again from the ashes of a previous existence or situation. This Full Moon makes a direct hit on both stars, and it gives a clue to how things are going to go right now, and in the future too. There will be individuals, institutions, countries and instances that will have to go through a complete break up or sacrificial process, as they literally have to start from scratch. This may lead to a fast moving crisis, as the breakdown is rapidly assessed, and remedial action is applied. Through what happens there will be victims, suffering and solitude as some have to literally go it alone. The function of Neptune and Pisces is literally to strip away and dissolve all of the material assets that we have built up, as we learn to rely on our faith, our spirituality, our wits and the goodwill of others to survive. If you have knowingly and recently gone through a difficult Neptunian aspect, you will know exactly what I am saying here.
Around the rest of this full Moon chart, there are other influences that may help and hinder us. The New Moon will be at the midpoint of a trine between Mars and Saturn, and influence of going it alone, and of self determination. Mars trine Saturn is a trine of steady advancement, of learning to walk before we can run. Is this the route we will have to take if everything breaks up around us now? Will we have to take thing step by step, carefully plotting our own destiny? The road to the top of the mountain will be one that will take a long time to achieve, but at least Saturn and Mars gives us drive and ambition to start the journey.
The other conjunction on this chart sees Chiron and Mercury together, with Mercury having just turned retrograde on the last degree of Pisces conjunct to Chiron moving forward in Aries. Here, we have to be careful what we agree to now, as anything we do may hurt us, and cause individual wounds (Chiron in Aries), and if we do agree to something it is likely to be overturned when Mercury goes direct in three week's time. There is a distinct lack of clarity with Mercury in Pisces, and you should be careful with your language as things you say may be taken the wrong way. You may also find out that you are being misled yourself, or you may be too vague in your aims. This is an aspect of hurtful delays and associated confusion if you are travelling at this particular moment. With Uranus having just entered a new realm in Taurus too, the potential for unexpected earth shattering changes that we will have to rapidly adjust to is very real indeed.
If you are looking for answers and clarity now, then you will have to wait for the New Moon in Aries in just under one month's time; that's not what this New Moon is all about. This is a New Moon of flexibility and adjusting your position as new challenges face us. It is a New Moon of sensing what is right, of feeling which way to go. It is a New Moon of hiding one's true intentions and keeping everyone guessing. Are we going to get any answers out of this New Moon? Absolutely not, however in the wake of it there will be a multitude of intriguing questions that will certainly arise...
