Hi, I'm Grim, an amateur astrophotographer. I want to share this image of Saturn taken last year, using my smartphone and a 10" Dobsonian Telescope. Growing up, I was amazed by the stars and planets, looking up in the night sky every time it was clear and buying magazines to have a closer look at the celestial objects. I was always in awe. But now, with a simple smartphone and a telescope, I can take an image of an astronomical object by myself. What a great feeling.
Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and the second-largest planet in the solar system. Although the other gas giants in the solar system Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune also have rings, Saturn's rings are particularly prominent, earning it the nickname the "Ringed Planet." Viewing it on the eyepiece and a telescope is much more spectacular and I think everybody should see and experience it.
I will show more of my images taken here in front of our house in my future post.
