More silver and a new friend
I went ba ck to the old picnic site last week and had another poke around to see what i could find. We've had a lot of rain recently and the area was a little boggy in sections, i'm guessing this is why it was an area being inhabited by leaches. You know, those little bloodsucking things! I first noticed them as i was digging a hole and one was on my trashbag, i flicked him off in to the dirt and he started to do this crazy dance.
He stood up(?) and stretched himself out super long, we're talking like 4 to 5 inches and wiggles himself around oin the air. Like one of those inflatable figures you see outside of car dealerships? Freaky!
Anyway, the hunt went on and I managed to find a couple more Silver Sixpences, this time they were 97.5% silver. Nice. Silver in the hole!
A little while later i look down at my screen, and there inside, underneath the screen is a leach! A leach INSIDE my metal detector. Now these Minelab x-terra 505's are pretty solid units, and from what i can see there are no gaping holes for him to wiggle through. My guess must be that somehow he's managed to squeeze in through the earphone jack... Crazy. I have no idea how to get him out, i guess he'll just end up drying out and dying in there, forever....

When i got home, i was sat on the couch and my cat, Talcum, was stalking my shoes. I went over to see what he was up to, and there was another leach inside my shoe! When i took my sock off to check for more, i was bleeding so he'd had a good munch on me!
