In a video recording, the former Barcelona leader criticized the way the Spanish police treated citizens who were going to vote, calling them "shameful"
"What is happening in Catalonia is a disgrace," he said in a video posted on social networking pages. "It is unreasonable to prevent people from voting while in a democratic country."
"My oldest support is for all those who went to vote peacefully."
In the context of the publication of Gerard Pique, the star of Barcelona, a picture through his account on Twitter, "he votes in the referendum.
"The sound of guns can not stop the voice of democracy," Pique wrote in a commentary.
