People are often asking what are we going to do so that manna has value?
This is a multi-tiered question, some of what is outside the scope of this post.
One thing we do want to focus upon is the idea that we are going to use other assets to back the value of manna. This might involve some traditional vehicles which could come from either purchase or donation.
One thing we are doing is accumulating cryptocurrency to back manna.
The @mannacurrency account is owned by the foundation. This means that the Steem Power amassed is owned by the organization that is backing manna. We believe in the blockchain long-term so we are powering up every bit of steem we acquire.
We are also using the SMT programs that are out there. Our Hunt account now sits at 7,920.76. This was all acquired via curation of posts on the @steemhunt account.
Recently, we signed up for the @actifit curation trail which is earning those tokens. The present account now has 122 ACTI in it. We were told that there will be an update soon which could assist an organization like ours in this area.
Finally, we are working on earning BAT tokens through our other social media endeavors. This is a token that is also designed to help reward people creating content especially in YouTube.
This is, by far, not a total summary of what the Manna team is doing for token value. We have a number of things being worked upon which, in our view, will increase the need and desire for manna.
By the end of the year, we will have the children's wallet system in place. This will help to reduce the number of tokens on the open market by having them locked away, via smart contract, until the children reach the age of majority. Each week tokens will go into their wallets but cannot be taken out. These tokens could be locked up for more than a decade depending upon the age of the child.
The Manna team remains deeply committed to the Steem community. We believe our goals line up with many people on here and are continually in discussion about different ways we are going to enhance this blockchain.
